Sometimes i fell sad, when the other dogs only can see that their friend adopted

I totally teared up. I adopted my boy from a high kill shelter, he did not react until he was in the car going home, he looked out of the window and realized he was driving away from the shelter and he began to jump on me, lick me and come alive. Fast forward nearly two years later and he is still the happiest dog in the world, I love you Thor.

  1. Beautiful. Thanks so much. In 2008 and 2009, while I was in New England for various reasons, I adopted three (3) dogs scheduled for death. I had a camper van, and we spent a lot of time together, walking, eating, sleeping, singing and laughing. Two of the dogs had lost owners and were grieving. We got doggie makeovers, cleanings and new stuff. We met doggie friends, and in all three cases, I was able to find perfect, loving forever families for these three dogs. There is nothing so wonderful as a dog. Saving lives and returning a dog to care for his “family” is a great gift.

  2. A wonderful story, Susan. I have cats. One of my friends wanted me to take a cat because the kids were allergic to it and yada yada. I stalled it off because I wasn’t interested in another cat. Finally, my friend said, “If you don’t take it, it’s going to the SPCA”. Okay, bring it over. Voila. The cat is a large, beautiful tortoise shell female. She’s right at home, as if she lived here all the time. She struts her stuff around (she knows she’s pretty) usually sleeps with me in my bed.
