THIS is INSANE!!! I lived in the LA area on two different occasions – firstly, as a kid, in the 1950’s, when the area was booming in the post-WWII era. Hollywood was still in its “Golden Era” and Sunset Blvd was the “Hot Spot”, full of starlets and Hollywood celebrities, site of movies and TV shows (anyone else remember “77 Sunset Strip” and “Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb”?), and again in the 1970’s when, having had a huge growth spurt in the preceding couple decades, LA was building the facilities which would cater to its new and affluent masses. Sunset Blvd was Disneyland without the admission fee. To see what it’s become is utterly beyond shocking. That “Cabo Wabo” bar and restaurant, rotting in the midst of the slum it’s become, was built on the success of the original “Cabo Wabo” in Cabo San Lucas and was packed, a West Coast “Studio 51”. Now it’s a derelict trash heap. “The Standard” hotel was famous and limos cycled through routinely. No limos now – or any doors that aren’t boarded up. I hope the Dems who destroyed the place are happy. The rot started in the late 80’s and one was starting to see it in the 1990’s, when I visited it incident to my daughter’s then nascent modeling career. You didn’t want to even park your car there, where once Vincent Price had thoughtfully put some change in my parking meter to save my getting a ticket. It’s now a complete s**thole and you can thank Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom and Gray Davis (and, yes, even Ah-nuld, who’d once said that, when he first arrived, “Richard Nixon was President, Ronald Reagan was Governor, and I was in heaven”, before he became just another, braindead RINO, tossing fuel onto the California dumpster fire). When Trump builds his wall, let me suggest that he ring California with it, as well. The place is lost and we in the surrounding states don’t want these idiots coming our way.
