I have been through fires and earthquakes and floods and more. I have put out large fires, using dirt, hoes, shovels. We live in an America where people no longer live in communities where in the event of a problem, the community comes together and trains to do just that. Yes, the helicopters are great, if you can go up. Where LA residents banded together, they did well, saving their own homes and a few others. It would be nice to think that the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on a fire department, water department and the like are buying you safety. It sure does not appear to be the case.
