If our police aren’t held to high standards, they won’t investigate or prosecute crimes properly. This guy can be blackmailed due to his extracurricular activities, he won’t be eager to bust prostitution rings, and he’s compromised in so many other ways. Fire him.
I was a police officer and that is a black eye for all cops. No wonder people dislike and do not trust police. Instead of letting him resign they should have FIRED him! I always thought a law enforcement officer should be charged if they commit a crime. If found guilty then the punishments should be doubled. Perhaps then people would have more respect for police. The main thing I remember from the police academy was what an instructor said, “You are not above the law, you represent the law”. BTW, I was on two police Dept’s in MARYLAND.
